Tracy Pejsa, LVT, CCRP, CCMT

Physical Rehabilitation

Tracy has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician for over 15 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Equine Health Management/Equine Business Management from Otterbein University in Ohio. In combination with receiving her BA, she also received her Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Veterinary Technology from Columbus State Community College. While completing her degree in Veterinary Technology, she completed a 6 month rotating internship at The Ohio State University (OSU) focusing on large and small animal medicine, surgery, and anesthesia.

Initially, Tracy worked in a small animal general practice and then transitioned to an equine practice in their surgery department. However, her internship at OSU piqued her interest in more specialized veterinary care. Tracy began working at OSU in 2004 with the Small Animal Veterinary Neurology and Orthopedic Surgery Departments. It was during this time that Tracy recognized the benefit of physical rehabilitation for many of the patients she cared for daily.

Tracy pursued certification in Canine Rehabilitation (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner- CCRP) through the University of Tennessee. Tracy was the first CCRP certified technician at OSU and was instrumental in developing and growing their Veterinary Physical Rehabilitation Program. In addition to facilitating the physical rehabilitation of as many as 10-12 patients/day through the Rehabilitation Program, Tracy's duties also included teaching students both in the veterinary and undergraduate program, lecturing in local and national conferences, organizing and instructing labs to teach other technicians and veterinarians about the benefits of physical rehabilitation.

In 2012 Tracy added Certified Canine Massage Therapist (CCMT) to her list of credentials by completing an additional certification program. Tracy joined CVRC in 2013 and has a strong interest in osteoarthritis management and post-operative rehabilitation of orthopedic and neurologic patients. She is excited to be a part of both the surgical team and the expanding Animal Rehabilitation and Fitness Service here at CVRC. Her knowledge and experience will benefit patients greatly and she looks forward to working with referral veterinarians to offer this cutting edge service.
